Story
Hello people,
I am participating in a skydive in September to fundraise for Beat, the UK's eating disorder charity. Beat supports anyone with an eating disorder, their friends and family, as well as professionals working with or worried about an individual in their care. Beat is a charity close to my heart, and the support they offer for people living with ED’s and their families are exceptional.
These serious mental illnesses include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. 1.25 million people in the UK have a diagnosed eating disorder. They affect people of all ages and backgrounds, and up to one in four sufferers are male. Eating disorders are the largest killer amongst all mental illnesses, with 1 in 5 unfortunately resulting in fatality. Eating disorders cost the UK's economy £16.8 billion each year. Any donation towards Beat will help to continue the support and education they offer for people and families.
I’m doing this to raise awareness for the cause and try to break the stigma surrounding eating disorders. If you feel you need support and are struggling, or care for a loved one struggling head to Beats website for info 💜
