Story
In May 2026, I’ll be joining a group of 30 to take on an amazing challenge: trekking a remote section of the Great Wall of China in aid of Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust. Over five days, we’ll spend up to seven hours each day tackling steep climbs, descents, and rugged landscapes —for causes close to my heart.
In particular, I recall the remarkable dedication I witnessed from the paediatric oncology team over the years I used to work with them. Behind the scenes, they work tirelessly — collaborating, problem-solving, and innovating — to deliver the best possible care for young patients, even when resources are limited. That team's compassion and commitment always motivate me to contribute in whatever ways I can.
The funds raised by this challenge will not only support ongoing treatment needs but also help make two transformative projects a reality:
Cambridge Cancer Research Hospital (CCRH):
A new hospital bringing together clinicians, researchers, and patients to speed up breakthroughs in cancer treatment.
Cambridge Children’s Hospital (CCH):
The UK’s first specialist children’s hospital that will integrate mental and physical healthcare under one roof.
Your support — no matter the amount — can make a real difference. Together, we can help bring hope and better outcomes to patients and families in our communities.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any contribution you feel able to make. Your kindness and compassion truly change lives.
