At Bluebell Wood, we care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions. We support hundreds of families, both in our hospice and in family homes. It costs around £6.7m to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. We receive 17% Statutory funding.

Story

Hi there!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. On 8th September I'm taking part in the Great North Run 2024 to raise money for Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice. In addition to this, I’m also running the Yorkshire Marathon on 20th October - my first ever marathon.

Bluebell Wood's work is amazing, caring for children and young adults with life-shortening or life-threatening conditions. They provide short breaks to give families respite, and opportunities to engage in activities to create special memories, whilst being supported by the care team.

It's such a wonderful cause, and as a father of two children myself, I can only imagine how invaluable this support must be during the most difficult of times.

With these races being so close together, it felt like a great opportunity to raise money across both events, to maximise the amount I could give to Bluebell Wood.

The marathon will be great preparation for my first ever ultra-marathon - Pendle Way in a Day - in February 2025.

All donations are greatly appreciated, so please give whatever you feel comfortable with, and help me raise £500. Your donation will go a long way - Bluebell Wood needs a staggering £14,000 each day just to keep their doors open.

Much love!
