LONDON TO PARIS IN 24 HOURS... ON 2 WHEELS
As anyone who knows me will vouch, I do love a challenge. Whether it is cycling across America, parachuting out of a plane, or walking from Lands End to Cape Wrath.
At the moment however I am facing an altogether different challenge.
Exactly 12 months ago at the age of 57 I was diagnosed with Advanced Stage 4 Prostrate Cancer.
So I am now challenging prostrate cancer – the most common cancer amongst men in the UK. I in 8 men will catch it. And 1 in 35 will die from it – 12,000 every year in the UK alone making it the third most common cancer after lung and bowel cancer.
To assist me to help raise as much money as I can for Prostrate Cancer UK I do hope you will sponsor me as James Alexander and I attempt to cycle from London to Paris in 24 hours. We intend to leave Trafalgar Square on the afternoon of Thursday 4th September and 210 miles later (with 5 hours off for good behaviour on the Newhaven to Dieppe overnight ferry) the intention is to reach Paris on Friday 5th September.
Please do help me raise as much money as I can for Prostrate Cancer UK.
I should add. The treatment options nowadays are innovative and the prognosis is as good as it can be. With some positive mental thinking, hard exercise, and hard work (with the magnificent and supportive team at AG&G) I intend to still be around for several years yet.
If you are able to sponsor me to raise money that would be magnificent.
And I promise to raise a glass to all my lovely sponsors in Paris on Friday 5th September!
Love to you all
Anthony
