Story
For my Bar Mitzvah project, I want to raise money for a charity that I feel close to and that helps young people's lives. It's a really fun place to be, the youth workers are kind. I like to play football and eat at the cafe. It's important to support youth centres as they can improve young people's mental health and give them a place to go.
Becoming Bar Mitzvah means taking responsibility for helping the create the world I want to live in. That's why I have decided to walk from my home in Manchester to Wigan, which is where the charity I am donating money for, Wigan Youth Zone, is based. I will be doing the walk with my Dad and Daddak (Grandad Brian)!
Wigan Youth Zone supports the mental health and wellbeing of 5,000 young people each year by offering a safe, welcoming space to talk, be heard, and access support from trusted Youth Workers.
My aim is to raise £1,500 towards the Wigan Youth Zone campaign, Paint the Borough Red, which is running for the next month. The campaign aims to raise a total of £8,000 which will go towards the Youth Zone's wellbeing project - offering vital support for kids most in need. For three examples of how the project has made a difference, you can watch the video below.
Anything you can donate would be very much appreciated.
Thank you very much.
