Music lifts our spirits, brings people together and changes lives. It is at the heart of the life and worship of Portsmouth Cathedral, and generations of young people have benefitted as choristers, choral scholars or participants in outreach programmes like Cathedral Sing. It is these children and young people that I especially have in mind when seeking sponsorship for the Great South Run in support of Portsmouth Cathedral’s new Choral Music Permanent Endowment. The beauty of an Endowment is that every pound given is permanently invested for the future, and will keep on supporting choral music at the Cathedral for generations to come.
