Crown & Manor is a wonderful boys youth club on the Regents Canal in Hackney, serving boys and young men in the local community for almost 90 years. I've had the privilege to support the club as a volunteer and, more recently, as a trustee.

My own connection with the club dates back to my days as a young teenager at Winchester College, which, as many of you will know, has always been closely connected to the club.

What the club offers its members and the local community is incredibly valuable. Yet the cost pressures the club faces are huge.

On Saturday, 16 August, I will set off from the club head out to the River Lea and turn right along the Capital Ring. 120kms later, on Sunday evening, I will finish my rather long run back at the club.
