I completed my first parkrun on pm 12th Feb 2005...only it wasn't called parkrun then. It was called 'Bushy Park Time Trial'. I had just bought a pair of running shoes at 'The Sweat Shop' in Teddington and they said, 'Why don't you try them out? There's a free run every Saturday at 0900 hrs? 'And they email your time too!' So I did - not realising I would be at the start of something wonderful. 21 years later my parkrun number - 190 - is still the proudest thing I've ever done. I want to say thank you to parkrun as a whole - Paul and the many who set it up, all those here at my local Street parkrun who give so much of their time each weekend. And not forgetting my running mates at Shapwick Runners too. I just want to give a little back for something that has achieved so much good. Thank you parkrun! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
