Story
I’m running the Plymouth Half Marathon on May 17, 2026, as part of rebuilding my health after Long COVID, which completely sapped my physical fitness. I’m running to lose weight, improve my health, and prove to myself that progress is still possible, even when the journey feels slow and frustrating.
At Harbour Centre (Plymouth), we often remind the people who use our service that recovery is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s imperfect. It’s messy. It rarely moves as quickly as we’d like. Now I’m living that lesson myself. This race is more than a finish line; it’s part of a bigger journey back to feeling strong, healthy, and at ease in myself.
I want to lead by example and model the very behaviours we encourage in others. Your support can make a significant difference in this journey. I am aiming to raise £500 for Harbour Centre (Plymouth) to help others on their path to recovery. Together, we can inspire hope and resilience in our community.
