Hello friends and family,

I’m excited to share that I will be running the Barcelona Marathon to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. This cause is incredibly close to my heart because my father-in-law was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. While the cancer is stable and only growing very slowly, other factors and the risks associated with major surgery mean that it cannot be removed unless absolutely necessary. However, this journey has made me acutely aware of the challenges faced by those battling this disease and the importance of supporting research and awareness.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, with over 47,000 new cases each year. Despite its prevalence, there is still much work to be done to improve early diagnosis, treatment options, and support for patients and their families. That’s why I’ve chosen to support Prostate Cancer UK, a charity dedicated to making prostate cancer a disease that no man dies from.

Training for a marathon is a daunting challenge, but it pales in comparison to the battles faced by those dealing with cancer. Each step I take and every mile I run will be fueled by the stories of bravery and resilience shown by men like my father-in-law.
