This November, I’ll be taking on the Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Lakes and Three Passes Trek, a 160 km journey through the Himalayas, climbing to altitudes of up to 5,500 meters and spending eight days or so above 5,000 meters in temperatures around -20 c.

It’s going to be a huge physical and mental challenge for me — but I’m doing it for a cause that’s even more meaningful. I’m raising funds for the Nimsdai Foundation, an incredible organisation founded by mountaineer Nirmal “Nims” Purja.

The foundation supports mountain communities in Nepal through education, disaster relief, and sustainable development — helping the very people who make Himalayan exploration possible, yet often live with limited resources and opportunities.

While this trek will push me to my limits, it’s nothing compared to the daily challenges faced by those I’m hoping to support.

I’ve always been inspired by the resilience and spirit of the Himalayan people. Their strength, humility, and generosity — even in the face of extreme hardship — have left a lasting impression on me.
