I'm attempting this bonkers challenge to raise money for HCPT Group 170 who is a charity that take sick, disabled and disadvantaged children to Lourdes for a holiday of a lifetime and to give much needed respite to their families who need it most.
I've been a volunteer with HCPT for 14 years during which time we have taken over 60 children away with us to Lourdes. Over that time I’ve had the privilege of seeing first hand the amazing impact this charity has on the children who travel and also the families we help.
Group 170 are Southampton based and we take 6-8 children each year, depending on their needs and the availability of suitable helpers.
It costs just over £1,100 to take each one child to Lourdes (plus the adult fares which they pay / fundraise for themselves). This includes the flights, accommodation, coaches to the airport, food, trips and cafe visits as well as craft activities and games equipment etc.
For more information and to see what a week for Group 170 is like, please visit the website: http://www.group170.org.uk/
Thank you in advance for your generosity, from Anthony and HCPT Group 170
