Royal Parks Half Marathon 2023 · 8 October 2023 ·

We are a children's cancer charity funding research into finding more targeted and less harsh treatments for the childhood solid tumour, Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS). We have invested in 13 RMS research projects at leading UK institutions. We also support the children and families impacted by the disease.

Story

As some of you may know, I am definitely not a runner, nor do I have a particularly high level of fitness. However, I am aiming to complete the Royal Parks Half Marathon.

This might come as a surprise, and that's why I ask for your support by donating to Alice's Arc, a community of families, scientists and doctors coming together to defeat rhabdomyosarcoma.

Alice’s Arc was inspired by Alice's journey with cancer. She was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma at age 3 in March 2015. She had 20 months of chemotherapy at GOSH, UK and proton radiation in the US. Alice spent a year cancer free but it returned in February 2018. She underwent 6 months of chemotherapy and a procedure known as AMORE in Amsterdam involving surgery and brachytherapy. Alice spent another year clear before tumours were found in her abdomen and pelvis in July 2019. There were no options left and unfortunately, Alice passed away, aged 7, in October 2019.

At Third Bridge, we are running and sharing this story in the quest to provide more resources to rhabdomyosarcoma research, in order to prevent and decrease cases like Alice's.

Thank you for your help!
