I have finished my Radiotherapy Treatment and as we speak I'm on the olaparib tablets. To help prevent the cancer from coming back.
I must say I feel much better in myself everyday and I'm grateful for given the chance to get the tablets to prevent my cancer from coming back. Thanks to Breast Cancer Now for the sustained pressure of there campaign. Olaparib is now available to patients like myself who could benefit from it..
I'm a single mother I have been very positive throughout ever since I was diagnosed with Triple-negative Breast Cancer plus having the BRAC1 MUTATIONS Genes aswell.
I'm raising funds and creating awareness for anyone going through the same, or might know of a family or friend who is.
I'm from a black Caribbean background it's in my best interests to share my story to help tackle the stigma around breast cancer particularly in the black communities.
I'm urging women to overcome their fears, most people think it's a curse others think it's an affliction so they just hide it while others think it's a death sentence.
Creating awareness for Triple-negative breast cancer. Among women under 50 as the disparity is even greater. While young women have a higher incidence of aggressive cancers, young Black women also have double the mortality rate.
"Don't be scared; Cancer is treatable. It is not a death sentence so do your checks. Early detection is the key.
