Story
During Suicide Prevention Week, we are taking on the challenge of walking 100km continuously over 24 hours to raise vital funds for A Place Called Here.
This challenge is deeply personal to us. We are doing it in loving memory of my father-in-law, Mick Byrne, whose loss has left a space in our hearts that can never be filled. We are also walking for every family, friend and member of our amazing community who has experienced the heartbreak of losing someone to suicide, for those living with the pain of grief, and for everyone who is struggling with their mental health.
A Place Called Here provides a lifeline to people after suicide loss through weekly peer-to-peer support groups and free wellbeing activities. They offer compassion, understanding and hope when people feel at their lowest, reminding them that they never have to face their grief alone.
Walking 100km continuously over 24 hours will push us physically and mentally, but it is nothing compared to the lifelong pain that suicide leaves behind. Every mile we walk is for those we've lost, for those who miss them every single day, and for those who still need hope.
If you are able to donate, no matter how big or small, you will be helping A Place Called Here continue providing life-changing support to those who need it most.
Thank so much for helping make a difference.
Thank you for remembering Mick, supporting this incredible charity, and standing alongside us. Together, we can honour those we've lost, support those left behind, and help create hope for the future.
