Fundraising for Team Autism TCS London Marathon 2024

London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·
Running the London Marathon is my dream, however beyond the personal achievement of finishing the marathon, I truly believe that running for a charity which has a cause close to my heart will give me a greater sense of fulfilment.
My son is my main inspiration to take on this marathon. He’s 8 years old and joined our family through adoption nearly 3 years ago. As soon as we started connecting we noticed our son is quite active, naturally like many children but also showing other behaviorial symptoms. He has been assessed and the outcomes are showing signs of ADHD and autism combined. His traumatic early life experiences make his profile rather complex, effecting his emotional development as well as language amongst others.
From a scared and confused child, Tommy is now a happy, caring, ambitious, curious, loving, fun & fearless kid. At times, he pushes our limits and parenting him can become challenging, however, no matter what we are there for our Tommy as we know that by providing the support he needs he can thrive in life. Running with #TeamAutism will surely give me a further purpose and motivation for completing the marathon, knowing that I can make an impact in the lives of these kids.
Finally, although my son may be too young to understand, however, I want to instill good values in him that training and running a marathon is a challenge and the finish line is far off but not impossible to cross. The journey of life is similar to a marathon, full of obstacles which we can overcome.
I kindly ask you to help me raise funds, your support will be helping to provide the best opportunities for people of all ages on the autism spectrum. Thank you!!
