Story
Hello and thank you for visiting my JustGiving page,
I’ve made the bold (and/or stupid) decision to throw myself out of a plane in the Lake District on 1st June this year!
If you know me well enough, you’d know I am the definition of risk-averse so skydiving is without a doubt out of my comfort zone.
Despite the immense fear of heights, I'm skydiving to support a charity with a worthy mission that is close to my heart – Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis.
Living life with a chronic condition like MS can make seemingly simple day-to-day activities far more challenging, feel overwhelmingly isolating and set limitations for those living with the condition - even at a prime age! MS most often onsets and is diagnosed when people are in their 30s and even 20s, which makes it the most common non-traumatic chronic condition diagnosed in young adults. And whilst medicine is actively working, there is no cure for MS yet unfortunately!
Overcoming MS aim to empower and educate those affected by the condition to manage their health and wellbeing through scientifically backed, holistic self-care strategies.
Overcoming MS advocates for taking control and making informed lifestyle choices about diet, exercise and meditation, which can improve health outcomes and overall wellbeing for those living with the condition immeasurably.
On top the physical and mental wellbeing advantages associated with their programme, the Overcoming MS lifestyle recommendations also serve as a preventative cure for a range of other illnesses prevalent in the Western World.
You can find out more about Overcoming MS here: https://overcomingms.org/
Your contributions will make a huge difference to support the research and great work the charity is doing about taking on MS with a positive outlook – so please donate generously!
I hope the adrenaline rush and the spectacular Lake District views will keep me going on the day, so I can do Overcoming MS justice too!
Thank you,
Antonia
