Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

On 15 September I will be running further than I ever thought I would (or could!) raising vital funds for Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

Motor neurone disease is a brutal condition that can affect anyone, at any age, irrespective of how fit, healthy and active they are, as the world learned from the brilliant Rob Burrow CBE who sadly passed away last month. The average life expectancy after diagnosis is only 2 years. There is currently no known cure.

The charity is an important one to me and the whole Roberts family. In March this year, we sadly lost the wonderful Pam Roberts, (the best mother-in-law a person could wish for), to MND.

MNDA supported Pam and the family every step of the way with invaluable advice and practical support. They even provided her with an eye-operated machine so that when she lost the ability to speak, she never lost her voice. Machines like this cost thousands of pounds and would be out of reach for ordinary people if it wasn’t for the work of MNDA.

I am aiming to raise £1,000 to help with vital research and invaluable support for families affected by MNDA. Please contribute whatever you feel able to - every little helps.

Together, we will one day find a cure.
