Delivering an ambulance to Ukraine · 1 November 2025

British-Ukrainian Aid supports people in any part of the world who are the victims of war or natural disaster, trouble, or catastrophe in particular by the supply of medical aid to such persons and organisations caring for them.

Story

We are Richard and Antony David (above), two brothers helping Medical Life Lines Ukraine by delivering a much needed ambulance to Ukraine. We are raising funds to purchase, recondition and deliver the ambulance containing vital aid supplies, and in November we will drive it in convoy from London to Ukraine.

To support our cause, please give what you can by clicking the blue Give Now button on this page. Please also share this page with anyone you think might wish to help us.

We are extremely grateful for your support, as you are helping to provide much-needed medical aid in war-torn Ukraine.

Over 100 vehicles delivered so far

As of September 2025, Medical Life Lines Ukraine has delivered 113 aid-filled ambulances and emergency services vehicles to Ukraine, alongside 25 generators and one all-terrain rescue crane since Russia's full-blown invasion. Destinations include Kyiv City Hospital, Mykhailovsky Hospital, Boryspil neonatal centre, Okhmadyt Children’s Perinatal, Medical Plaza centre in Dnipro and Odessa emergencies services. This work has saved countless lives and shown the people of Ukraine that so many in the outside world are aware of their plight and are keen to help.

Partnerships in Ukraine

Medical Life Lines Ukraine works with partners including Ukraine's Ministry of Health and State Emergency Service to identify hospitals, emergency teams, NGOs and others for which vehicles, equipment and aid will make a real difference. They source, check and buy the right vehicles and equipment, recondition and deliver them to where they are needed most. The charity is supported by British-Ukrainian Aid.

This winter will be harsh and challenging for Ukraine. Russia has intentionally focussed its attacks on power generation infrastructure and hospitals, all crucial resources, especially in winter.

What's involved in an ambulance convoy

It costs some £20k to buy, recondition and deliver an ambulance to Ukraine and this money is raised by volunteer fundraiser-drivers. Drivers travel in pairs and in convoy from London to Ukraine, with an itinerary organised by Medical Life Lines Ukraine. Each driver raises or contributes £7,000 towards the cost.

Medical Life Lines Ukraine in the news

Daniel Whitehead of Medical Life Lines Ukraine talked to BBC News in 2023 about how the charity's much needed efforts had grown:

This piece from America's CBS network gives some insight into a Sunflower Convoy from 2023:

Thank you for visiting our page and supporting our mission. We are hugely grateful to you for your generosity in continuing to help to save lives and send a significant message of support to the people of Ukraine who are suffering so greatly as a result of Russia's aggression.
