Story
This year, Apollo have chosen to support the North Bristol and South Glos food bank charity because we believe it is a very important charity who save the most vulnerable members of our society from going hungry. We know that this charity has a huge impact on a lot of people’s lives, including students and family members from our very own school.
According to research from the Felix project, 12% of people have between £20 and £29.99 a week to spend on food - just over £4.28 a day. 9% have just £2.85 a day to spend on breakfast, lunch and dinner. 4% of respondents had £10 at most to spend on food, which is just over £1.40 per day.
To raise awareness of the devastating impact of Food Poverty, we have decided to live like this for 3 days from 10th - 12th June.
DAY 1: We will spend no more than £4.28 on food and drink.
DAY 2: We will spend no more than £2.85 on food and drink.
DAY 3: We will spend no more than £1.40 on food and drink.
We have a whole team of students (and Miss Tipping) who will be living this way for three days and documenting our experience. All money raised will go towards supporting the incredible charity who make sure that many people do not go hungry. Please donate! :)
