Manchester Half Marathon 2024 · 13 October 2024 ·

St Luke’s is an independent charity caring for terminally ill adults and their loved ones across Sheffield. Each year, we care for around 1,900 patients most of whom are cared for in their own home by our Specialist Palliative Care Community team.

Story

In October me and my family are running the Manchester Half Marathon in memory of my Grandpa, Bill Wade, who passed away due to bowel cancer in February. This run will, undoubtedly, be a huge challenge for us, as it is both mine and my sisters first ever half marathon, however it is the least we can do to honour Bill’s amazing life: he was the most loving, selfless person we have ever known and he devoted his life to helping others. We are hoping that the money raised for St. Luke’s Sheffield Hospice can go towards giving another person’s loved one a peaceful goodbye.

Any and all donations, regardless of amount, are greatly appreciated.
