Prospect Hospice provides end-of-life care to people and offers support to their loved ones. Our specialist teams provide care that is tailored to the needs of each person. All our care is provided free of charge and it costs £10.5 million to run our services. Your support is vital to our care.

Story

I’ve never been more determined to make a difference than I am right now.

Since losing my dad, my whole understanding of life — and death — has changed. Until you experience it, you don’t truly understand what hospice care really means. I thought I did… but I didn’t.

What I saw at Prospect Hospice was something extraordinary. It was love, compassion, kindness, and dignity all wrapped up in one place. It was laughter through tears. It was peace after pain. It was humanity at its absolute best.

My dad’s final days were filled with care, comfort, and calm — not fear or suffering. He was treated as the fabulous person he was, not as a patient.

He was listened to, respected, and surrounded by people who made sure he could leave this world exactly as he wished — peacefully, with dignity, and with his family by his side. That’s something I will never, ever forget.

And it absolutely breaks my heart to think that not everyone gets that chance.

Hospice and palliative care aren’t fully funded by the NHS. These incredible places — filled with angels who dedicate their lives to helping others — rely heavily on donations.

How can that be? How can something so vital, so full of humanity, not be everyone’s right?

We were lucky. We got a bed at Prospect Hospice. I’ll never stop being grateful for that. But I can’t sit back knowing that others might not get the same chance — that some families might face those final moments without the support, the peace, the comfort that every single person deserves.

So this is where my mission begins.

I’m going to be hell-bent on telling my story — my dad’s story — and showing the world just how life-changing hospice care can be. I’m going to take on challenges, push myself, and do everything I can to raise awareness and funds for Prospect Hospice, because no family should have to face the end without this level of care and love.

This is for my dad — who taught me what strength, humour, and love really meant.

It’s for the nurses and carers who held our hands when we needed it most.

And it’s for everyone out there who will one day need this care — because one day, we all will.

Please join me on this journey.

Donate, share, cheer me on — whatever you can do, it will make a difference.

Together, we can make sure everyone has the right to a peaceful, dignified death — and the love and care they deserve at the end.

💚 Thank you from the bottom of my heart. For reading, for caring, for helping me honour my dad’s memory by supporting this incredible cause.
