Story
Caroline, Danny, Jules, Katie, Kirsten, Lorraine, Vix and Weenie, aka Aqua-holics Anonymous, are taking part in the 24 hour swim relay at Lake 32 on the 20th September.
We are taking on this challenge, swimming for 3 hours each, to raise money for Level Water, an incredible charity that provides 1-to-1 swimming lessons for children with disabilities who have often been excluded, and transforming what is possible. We are doing it for children like Susie, born with cerebral palsy, was once told she didn’t belong in swimming lessons. Now, thanks to tailored support through Level Water, swimming is her favourite part of the week: “It’s where I feel strongest.” – Susie
For many the ability to swim is taken for granted, yet it is covered by the school curriculum as an essential skill to have as you grow up. Yet this is not the case if you have a disability. Yet why should they be treated any differently. Would any of us be happy if our children were side lined like this just because they don't fit a mould? Especially when we consider the physical and mental health benefits that is brings.
With your support, these kids might one day join us in this very event, swimming alongside their friends and family. They deserve that chance and that option.
Every £15 funds a life-changing lesson. Please donate what you can and help us make a difference!
