Story

We are the Aquarian Ambulators, a team of 8 from Aquarian Cladding. This year, we will take part in the 25km Jurassic Coast Challenge on 18th May while fundraising for Alzheimer's Research UK, the UK's leading Alzheimer's research charity with a mission to find a cure.

The charity was chosen as many members of the team have personal experience of the devastating effect dementia can have on individuals and families, and if nothing changes, one in two of us will be directly affected by dementia, either by developing it ourselves, caring for someone with it, or both. The number of people with Dementia is predicted to rise to over 1.1 million by 2030, the estimated cost of dementia in the UK in 2021 was £25bn, and the leading cause of death across the UK in 2022 was dementia. Research is the only chance of changing the ending...

ARUK exists for a cure. They fund pioneering scientific studies aimed at treating, preventing, or curing all forms of dementia, so please support us. Together, we can make a difference.

Team Members: Julian Venus, Paul Richards, Jazz Rigden, Chris Gill, Emma Gilbert, Jake McVitty, Jacob Wotton and Martin Allen.
