Archie's fundraiser for Thames Valley Air Ambulance

Archie Wilson is raising money for Thames Valley Air Ambulance

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Thames Valley Air Ambulance is the only provider of advanced critical care within Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. Every day, someone in our community could be in urgent need of our service.

Story

This year (2025), I will be running the London Marathon for Thames Valley Air Ambulance. A charity which I personally owe a considerable amount to.

As you may or may not know, in 2015, when I was 18 years old in my final year of school, I suffered a brain haemorrhage whilst playing rugby. In non-medicinal terms, this is when the brain bleeds which increases the pressure inside your skull...

The Thames Valley Air Ambulance was called by the on-site paramedic as my condition was deteriorating rapidly. The TVAA arrived and transferred me to the John Radcliffe Hospital incredibly efficiently. In hospital, I had brain surgery to drain the blood to relieve the pressure from inside my skull. I owe everything to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, and I can never thank them enough.

For the London Marathon, I will be setting myself an ambitious challenge of completing the marathon in under 2hrs 50mins!

Thank you in advance for any donations!
