We are proud to be supporting The Adolescent & Children's Trust (TACT) for our Christmas raffle this year.

TACT are the UK's largest dedicated fostering charity, their work covers England, Scotland and Wales. They provide support for children in care, the families who foster them, and they support young adults once they leave the care system. TACT support over 600 children who are in foster care, and over 500 families who foster them.

Raffle tickets are £2 each, please donate in even amounts ensuring you leave your full name and donation amount visible (without this we cannot allocate your raffle tickets). The raffle draw will take place on Friday 16th December.

Founded in 1993, TACT have over 600 children and young adults being looked after by their foster carers. They are based across England, Scotland and Wales and provide a diversified and innovative range of services to children and young people who are on the edge of care, or in care. TACT also put great emphasis on helping individuals with their transition out of the care system with their TACT Connect initiative.

TACT Connect offers range of vital services to young adults leaving care, including life skill workshops such as cooking, financial grants, education support services, employment guidance and work experience opportunities, as well as an online community and access to mentors. All these initiatives are designed to fully support a young adult leaving care as they embark upon their journey into adulthood and dependence.

Thanks to the work that TACT Connect offers, in 2021 only 2% of children or adolescents supported by TACT were convicted of an offence, compared to the national average of 9%. This demonstrates the clear connection of being in the care system, and the justice system. We see the challenges that young adults in care face as they leave the safety of their foster homes and the effect this can have on that individual and their local community. We want to work with TACT in helping address these challenges to provide a better life for those individuals, resulting in a safer community for them and those around them.
