Team walk around London to raise awareness of James' Place and the work they do in offering free, life-saving treatment to suicidal men · 17 May 2023

Our mission is to stop men dying by suicide and we believe death by suicide is preventable. Yet, in the UK suicide is still the single leading cause of death of men under 35. At James’ Place, we provide professional therapy for men in suicidal crisis to help them find hope for the future.

Story

In early 2022, whilst out for a lunch walk, a couple of Ardonagh colleagues spotted a young man standing close to the Thames on the wrong side of the railings. They chose to stop, open a conversation with him and with some gentle encouragement the man stepped back over. They discovered he had an appointment the same day at James' Place where he had been receiving counselling. A few months later, they were able to visit James' Place and experience first hand the amazing work they do to provide free, professional therapy for men in suicidal crisis to help them find hope for the future.

Adding to the kind donations from the Ardonagh Charity Trust and Ecclesiastical Insurance, the team want to continue to raise the profile of James Place and will be visiting the centre in London followed by a team walk through London.

Any donations to help this great charity would be greatly appreciated.
