As a charity, we need to raise two-thirds of our running costs on average each year to provide our specialist palliative and end of life care. Fundraisers like our Elf Run bring together our community and help us with our fundraising mission – all whilst having some fun.

Every elf who takes part makes a difference to Barnsley Hospice.

In 2024, our amazing Beavers, Cubs and Scouts took part in the Barnsley Hospice Elf Run and raised over £700! This year, we’re putting our elf hats back on and hoping to do even better.

The Elf Run is a brilliant community fundraiser where thousands of “elves” from schools, groups and businesses across Barnsley come together to support the hospice. Last year over 10,000 elves took part and raised an incredible £37,000 for specialist palliative and end-of-life care for local people and their families.

This year, the young people of Ardsley Scout Group will be completing their Elf Run on Sunday 14th December from 10:00am to 11:30am. Whether running, jogging or walking, they’ll all be doing their bit to support the amazing work of Barnsley Hospice.

Every donation, big or small, will help the hospice continue caring for people in our community when they need it most.
