Late on Friday evening, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck Morocco - the epicentre was in the High Atlas Mountains, approximately 70 kilometres south of Marrakech.

A 4.9 magnitude aftershock followed just 20 minutes later. Local authorities are already reporting that over 1,000 people have died, and many more are injured. These numbers are likely to rise rapidly in the coming days as the full impact of the disaster becomes clear.

The local Moroccan Red Crescent are on the ground responding to the earthquake.

We as a trio have already raised some money for the charity 'Cool Earth' but moving forward we would like to continue to fundraise but for the Red Cross in the appeal towards supporting the earthquake response in Morocco. For more information on our challenge, please find the original post below.

"We are thrilled to announce that we are embarking on an incredible and possibly a little crazy adventure.

The three of us will be taking on the Moroccan Sahara desert, riding hilarious monkey bikes, all unaided by professionals! Our start and (hopeful) end can be seen in the picture gallery, along with the bikes and landscape we are aiming to travel.

We are all pretty sure we will survive without cases of dehydration, scorpion stings or simply ending up in the wrong country. 

However we would like to give something back in aid of our tomfoolery with our own safety.
