Story
Our lives have all been touched by someone affected by Cancer, and this past year has been a particularly tough one for our Aristos coaching team and their families.
Charlie's mum, Morag, battled with cancer for 9 years and sadly passed away last year, on August 29th 2025. Morag previously raised money for Beatson and it was a charity that was close to Morag's heart.
The start of 2026 unfortunately hasn't been much brighter, with Legends member and Robbie's dad, Alastair, being diagnosed with Brain Cancer in February. Following emergency brain surgery, Alastair is currently undergoing radiotherapy with the wonderful Beatson team.
Sadly, in 2005 Vicky's dad was also diagnosed with lung cancer, which was unfortunately discovered at a very advanced stage. He passed away a few short months later at the Beatson, who were an incredible support to Vicky and her family at the time.
To raise money for the amazing work and support provided by the Beatson, we are running an Aristos Ergathon, on Saturday 6th June from 8.30am. The format for the Ergathon will be 15-minutes on the Air Bike; 15-minutes on the Ski (erg), 15-minutes on the Bike (erg), and finally a 15-minte Row; completed individually or in teams of 2 or 3 (1-hour total on the four ergs). There is no required distance to be completed, and time spent on the ergs can be split any way amongst your team, i.e. the work does not have to be split equally. We welcome members from across all of our programs and non-members to take part in the event, therefore please grab your family, friends or gym buddies and make a team!
Entry to the Ergathon will be £10 per person or another donation, and all entry fees / donations will go to the Beatson Cancer Charity.
A sign up board will be available in the gym with start times at either 8.30am or 9.35am, therefore please pay your entry fee / donation through this Just Giving page and then sign your name / team up on on the board in the gym next to a start time! If you do not yet have a team please add your name next to a start time and we can help to find you one :)
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
