Story
On the 20 October I’ll be in York and attempting my first marathon.
Ten years ago my mum died from cancer. She had a long nine year journey with the illness with many ups and downs but with such a milestone anniversary back in August, I’ve been reflecting on the amazing support she and my family received from the hospice she eventually died in.
Hospice care is becoming a postcode lottery for so many in the UK so I’m running for Hospice UK, who fights for hospice care provision for all who need it, and also for Herriot Hospice in Thirsk who provided such fantastic care to my mum allowing her to die in peace and with dignity.
Any support towards this effort to help keep the legs turning when it starts to get tough would be hugely appreciated.
