This year, I'm running the London Marathon once more to support Havens Hospice, a remarkable charity dedicated to providing palliative nursing and care for adults and children facing complex or incurable illnesses.

What makes Team Havens London Marathon truly special is the impact each mile has on the families Havens Hospices cares for. With every step taken runners contribute to ‘Making every day count’ for people of all ages who are living with incurable conditions and their families.

I know firsthand how important their work is, as they were there to support my family when my dad lost his short battle with cancer in December 2021, at the age of just 68. His illness was very sudden, and just a couple of weeks after his diagnosis he suffered a major stroke, meaning all treatment had to stop. With the support of Havens Hospices, we were able to get Dad home for his final weeks, enabling us to spend precious time together as a family.

Havens’ specialist care teams were fantastic, and we will be forever grateful for the care they provided to my dad and to our family.

Havens don't charge a penny for any of their services and can only exist because of the support and generosity of folks like you.
