Arshad and Lamees' fundraiser for Learning Disability Network London

This charity is very close to home for me and my daughter and we are very excited to be supporting a charity that does such excellent and integral work for the community.
I grew up with a brother who had a disability and saw how this had a social and emotional impact on all of us, parents and siblings. With limited outreach support and perhaps a lot of reluctance from my parents to ask for help, we all took on some form of caring responsibility, because that was what you do as a family. Not knowing and perhaps not being aware, how this would influence the rest of my life on feeling a sense of responsibility together with a civil duty to look after people that are like my brother. My brother passed away a few years ago, though I instantly felt he was now at peace and he has now gone to a better place. The grief has never left me, he was my eldest brother, but at the same time, he was our baby, he wasn't able to do anything for himself, so from bathing, clothing, feeding to his personal care, was done by his family. Only on reflection, do I understand how difficult it was for my parents, and I can't ever imagine even with my experience, the hardship this brought to my parents. So, I want to make a difference, and bring awareness to and perhaps more importantly show its alright to ask for help and try to remove the barriers that people like my brother face every single day.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated towards this excellent charity.
