Story
We are raising money for Bristols Royal Hospital for Children.
We will be doing a few little projects throughout the hospital but our main project is transforming the oasis garden into more of a sensory engaging and relaxing space in memory of our late son Arthur who was a patient at Bristol children’s hospital having chemotherapy.
We spent months and months looking down on the plain brick walls of the mostly bare courtyard garden, imagining how nice it could be. Well now we have that opportunity. Unfortunately Arthur passed away aged Two from leukaemia in November 2022. So we want to do this project in memory of him and for all children and their families at the hospital so they can use this garden as a small escape from the stressful and overwhelming environment of the hospital.
We have teamed up with the charity Time is Precious. As it is a charity very close to our hearts, It was set up by Neil and Nicky Halford in memory of their son Ben who sadly died from cancer at age 5.
The aim of the charity is to help create a more comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for children and their families in hospital or at home.
And that is what we aim to achieve with this transformed sensory garden in the heart of the children’s hospital.
I will be giving updates on Arthur’s instagram (@arthurcoletaylor) of the progress of the garden project and other little bits we are doing within the children’s hospital.
As well as participating in some local fundraisers such as cake sales and fancy dress fun runs.
Please let me know if you would like to get involved and spread the word and Donate, so that we can give the families who are experiencing one of the most stressful times in their life a bit of calm with a beautiful new oasis garden.
Thank you, love Arthur’s Mummy and Daddy x
