Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I know this will be confusing for some but this is really Jase, I'm using my Xbox Gamertag as this is how most people know me online and with the mass sharing I'd prefer to not completely dox myself. I hope this makes sense to everyone and sorry for any confusion caused.

Now that explanation is our of the way, here's the details on why I'll be undertaking this half marathon.

This year I’m taking on a challenge that means more to me than I can put into words. I’ll be raising money for Diabetes UK, a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.

My beautiful wife Amy has recently been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes after years of being wrongly diagnosed. Watching her go through this journey has been difficult, but it has also shown me just how strong and resilient she is every single day. Living with this condition isn’t something you switch off from – it’s constant, and it’s something she faces with courage and determination.

That’s why I’ve decided to do something completely out of my comfort zone. I’ve started a 16-week training plan to prepare for the Worcester City Runs Half Marathon 2026. Running is starting to become part of my every day routine now and its helped me so much in my own journey, but this will be my very first marathon-distance event, and I know it’s going to push me both physically and mentally. But every mile I run will be for my wife and for everyone affected by diabetes.

Raising money for Diabetes UK means supporting vital research, helping improve treatments, and giving hope to people and families living with diabetes every day. If I can make even the smallest difference, it will be worth every early morning run, every sore muscle, and every step of the journey.

This challenge is for my wife, for the strength she shows every day, and for a cause that truly means the world to me.
