Artists Supporting Palestine is an initiative launched in March 2024 to provide a way for artists and art buyers to support the people of Palestine at this moment of extreme need.

The Palestinian people have lived under the shadow of Israeli occupation for decades, but since October 7th have been facing an unprecedented level of violence, fear and deprivation.

The level of civilian deaths is unprecedented and there is no sign of an imminent end to Israel's military campaign. In addition to those killed and wounded as a direct result of Israel's military actions, the almost complete destruction of Gaza's healthcare infrastructure means that civilians with injuries or existing medical conditions are going untreated or enduring unimaginable pain as they are treated without anaesthetic and other basic clinical resources.

The desperate situation is further compounded by the blocking of vital aid convoys which are either prevented from entering Gaza or prevented from accessing all regions of Gaza, particularly the north. Hunger, thirst and disease are now also rife, with the UN confirming at the end of February 2024 that one quarter of Gaza's population is one step away from famine.

Like the wider population, many artists are profoundly moved by the situation facing Palestinians but feel helpless in the face of such need and the apparent lack of political will to bring about an immediate, permanent ceasefire, implement an immediate and massive humanitarian campaign and ensure the full implementation of international law.

Artists Supporting Palestine offers a way for artists and art buyers to buy and sell art in order to raise funds that will go to directly helping the Palestinian people.
