Hello!

We are a team of currently 6 members training to run the 2025 October Lisbon Marathon for the Blood Pressure UK charity. Please read my friend Alex's story and his connection to the charity below:

My name is Alex and I have been working with the BPUK charity for the last year. This cause is personal to me as I first experienced hypertension at age 15 and was fully diagnosed with chronic hypertension at 18 years old. This condition is something I manage every day through lifelong medication, regular checkups, monitoring, a strict low-salt diet, and consistent exercise. High blood pressure affects millions of people worldwide, and if left uncontrolled, it can become life-threatening, often leading to heart disease, strokes, kidney disease, and more. Hence, I believe it would be great to fundraise for research into hypertension and cardiovascular disease, as well as to support the charity’s mission of raising awareness about blood pressure and prevention.
