Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our team JustGiving page.
We’re taking on the Skyline London to Brighton Cycle Ride as a team of 13 riders — friends, family and colleagues — in memory of our much-loved Director and friend, Alex Wallace.
Alex was part of the very fabric of ASH Drywall, helping to build the business from its early years into what it is today. More than that, he was known for his kindness, patience and the time he gave to others—he was a mentor and friend to so many of us at ASH Drywall.
This ride also feels like a fitting “blast from the past” for us. Back in the 1990s, teams from ASH Drywall regularly took part in the British Heart Foundation London to Brighton Bike Ride, so in many ways this is a revival of something that has long been part of the company’s story.
With 2026 marking our 40th year of trading, we wanted to do something meaningful to honour both that milestone and Alex’s legacy — bringing together past and present in a way that reflects the strength and spirit of the business he helped shape.
We are raising money for the Pevensey Ward at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Charity — the team who cared for Alex during his treatment. Many tributes speak of his courage and dignity during his illness, which has inspired us to support others now going through similar experiences (https://ian-alexander-wallace.muchloved.com/).
Every donation will go towards supporting patients and families undergoing treatment, and is a way for us — and everyone who knew Alex — to honour his memory and give something back.
