Story
This International Women’s Day, I’ll be walking 15km from Manchester city centre to Altrincham to raise vital funds for Manchester Women’s Aid.
The distance is symbolic. In the UK, 1 women is murdered every 5 days by a current or former partner, a devastating reality and a powerful reminder of why International Women’s Day must be a moment for action, not just reflection.
I’m fundraising so that donations can go directly towards frontline services that support women and families across our city. This includes funding safe community spaces such as drop-in services and outreach work, helping to cover the costs of refuge accommodation, and ensuring women and their families can access the practical and emotional support they need to rebuild their lives.
This International Women’s Day, I’m choosing to be part of the change, so that women in Manchester can take their first steps towards safety, dignity, and a future free from abuse.
Any donation, big or small, will make a real difference. Thank you so much for your support!
