Would you help us make a difference to our hospital's most seriously ill and injured patients? Your donations will help fund additional equipment, family friendly facilities and national learning opportunities in our Critical Care Unit.

Story

On the 16th March our lives were turned upside down, my partner Daniel bricknell became critical and needed emergency surgery due to a nasty infection in his brain which had caused multiple absesses with one having to be removed at preston hospital.

Myself and his family cannot thank all the staff at preston hospital enough starting from the surgeon who saved dannys life.

The critical care team where unbelievable the care he recieved from all staff at the hospital has been amazing.

He is making amazing progress and he is currently in preston rehab receiving the best care.

It is going to be a long road ahead but we all know he is going to do it💪 .

He is one fighter and we all couldn't be any prouder.

So on the 28th July 2025 i will be running 5k to raise money for the hospital to say thank you ❤️

I would appreciate any donations and would like to say thank you to all the family and friends for all the kind words and support. ❤️

(Below is a little bit about what the critical care team do)

Our critical care unit at Royal Preston Hospital is one of the largest in the North West of England, looking after more than 1600 patients every year.

Our dedicated team provides intensive treatment and close monitoring of patients who are seriously ill, or who need intensive care following surgery.

As our Critical Care Unit continues to grow here will always be a need for those added extras which can make all the difference to our patients and their families, when they need it the most.

Your donations will enable us to provide a welcoming, calm and comfortable environment for families staying close to their loved ones. With your help we can also fund additional equipment and state-of-the-art simulation training, enabling our team to remain at the forefront of modern technology and exceptional care.
