Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After several attempts in the ballot, I’ve finally got lucky and landed a place in the London Marathon! It’s starting to feel very real now and, although a bit daunting, I’m excited to be part of such an incredible experience 😅
Everyone that knows me, knows how busy my life is—but I thought I’d throw marathon training into the mix too!
To be honest, getting out for runs hasn’t been easy. Working full-time, trying to have a life—gigs, meals, pub quizzes, holidays—means squeezing in training (especially the long runs) has been… a challenge!
Add in shift work, trying to drink enough water (still working on that!), and cutting back on the spicy food—this is basically a full lifestyle change at this point.
And yes… lessons have been learned.
Last year’s York Marathon involved a very bad pre-race curry choice and FOUR toilet stops 😳 Not my finest moment—so this time it’s all about the “athlete diet” in the final weeks: plain rice, fish, white bread and potatoes. Living the dream!
Jokes aside, I’m raising money for the Transport Benevolent Fund (TBF), a charity that means a lot to me personally as I’ve needed their support in the past.
They quietly help people in the transport industry when life takes a difficult turn—something that can happen to anyone, regardless of job or salary.
So every mile I run (hopefully with no toilet stops this time!) is for them.
If you can donate, I’d be so grateful. And if not, I will absolutely take all the encouragement I can get to help me over the finish line!
Thank you so much for your support 💛
