Story
I'm raising funds to support Dads Rock! Will you chip in?
I attended Dads Rock for the first time when my son Lenyx was just weeks old. Having relocated from Manchester to Ayrshire with my partner Tiff in order to be closer to her parents and for financial stability I found myself very much out of my comfort zone.
A new dad in a different country with no real social circle and limited support network, I’m not afraid to say I was terrified.
Since my first attendance, dad’s rock has been there as much as I have needed them for support, guidance and encouragement through my step into fatherhood. The service they provide is essential for new dads and families and men’s mental health as a whole. It’s a safe space where Dads share experiences and help one another through the challenges of raising a family.
Workshops have helped me increase my knowledge and understanding of things such as infant sleep, first aid and even nutrition and baby sensory.
They’ve helped me develop into the Dad I am today and my little boy is thriving. I’m by no means perfect and always learning as toddlerhood looms and we face more challenges but I know that Ryan and the team are there if I need anything not to mention the chaos in the group chat
This kind of support is readily available for mums up and down the country but somewhere a long the line is dads have been left behind a wee bit and this is why Dads Rock is so important so please help by giving a small donation to allow them to continue their fantastic work.
