Ashley & Jacob’s fundraiser for Suicide Prevention UK

Jurassic Coast Challenge 2024 · 18 May 2024 ·
On the 17th January this year, our family sadly lost our beloved Amy Louise Manning.
Unfortunately, every 90 minutes a friend or loved one is lost through suicide in the UK. That’s as long as a football match and deeply saddens us.
As a result, in May of this year Jacob Smith and I are taking part in the Jurassic Coast Ultra 1st Quarter Challenge in order to raise money for Suicide Prevention UK. The charity rely solely on public donations to be enable them to undertake the lifesaving work they do. They are a non-profit organisation, rely solely on volunteers and are not funded by the NHS, unlike Mind. They are there to provide help to anyone struggling with their mental health and/or thoughts of suicide. We will be walking (100% not running just yet) 25km in honour of our beautiful cousin. Next year we will be completing the 50km challenge, the year after the 75km and the year after that finishing with the 100km!
Sadly, we can’t bring Amy back. We have to try and learn to live with what’s happened for the rest of our lives, something I don’t think any of us will truly accept, but what we can do is honour her memory and raise awareness/money for this charity - one truly close to our hearts.
Amy wasn’t just our cousin, she and her family in Yeovil are our home - our safe space. Amy brought us so much joy and comfort and we will dedicate the rest of our lives to raise awareness around mental health in honour of her memory.
So please dig deep and donate what you can to help us raise money in memory of our Amy Lou 🩷
