Story
On the 17th January 2024, our family sadly lost our beloved Amy Louise Manning.
As a result, in May of this year we are taking part in the Jurassic Coast Ultra 1/2 Challenge in order to raise money for Suicide Prevention UK. Jacob and I completed the 1/4 challenge last year and organised a charity quiz night. We raised over £7,000 (once Gift Aid was factored in) and we honestly couldn’t thank everyone enough for their generosity in memory of our girl. This year, Amy’s mum (our auntie Helen) will be joining us in the walk!
The charity rely solely on public donations to be enable them to undertake the lifesaving work they do. They are a non-profit organisation, rely solely on volunteers and are not funded by the NHS, unlike Mind. They are there to provide help to anyone struggling with their mental health and/or thoughts of suicide.
We will be walking 42km in honour of our beautiful cousin/daughter. Next year we will be completing the 75km challenge and then finishing off with the 100km challenge!
Sadly, we can’t bring Amy back. We have to try and learn to live with what’s happened for the rest of our lives, something I don’t think any of us will truly accept, but what we can do is honour her memory and raise awareness/money for this charity - one truly close to our hearts.
Amy brought us so much joy and comfort and we will dedicate the rest of our lives to raise awareness around mental health in honour of her memory.
So please dig deep and donate what you can to help us raise money in memory of our beautiful Amy Lou 🩷🩷
