🚴♂️ Seven Events Later… and Onto the Next 500 Miles
In 2026, I’m proud (and slightly terrified) to be taking on the 7th Straumann Group Charity Bike Ride — and yes, I’m one of the very few who has taken part in every single event. Seven events later, and here I am again, convincing myself this is a good idea.
Although I’m not part of Straumann, I’m honoured to ride alongside their team and customers once again. This year, 60 of us will cycle 500 miles in 5 days, starting at Straumann Group’s global head office in Basel. From there, we’ll take on a spectacular route through the Vosges National Park, the Alsace Wine Region, and the legendary Black Forest. And because I apparently enjoy suffering, I’ll be tackling the harder routes… despite being very aware that I’m not getting any younger and my knees have started filing formal complaints.
This ride is especially close to my heart because I now serve as a trustee of Dentaid, the charity we’re supporting. I’ve seen firsthand the impact their work has — and it’s extraordinary.
For the third time, Straumann Group is riding in support of Dentaid, helping to provide vital dental care across the UK. This year’s fundraising focuses on supporting vulnerable women and families affected by violence and abuse. Access to dental care can be genuinely life‑changing, restoring dignity, confidence, and wellbeing.
Each rider has committed to raising £1500, and every donation — big or small — helps Dentaid reach those who need care the most.
Thank you for supporting our riders, supporting Dentaid, and helping to change lives one smile at a time. And thank you for supporting me as I attempt to convince my knees that this is still a good idea.
