Story

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page. We have decided to raise money in memory of Ashvin Mohanlal Parekh, to help more families get the specialist dementia support that they need.

Ashvin Mohanlal Parekh was a loving Husband, Dad, Dada and Nana. He was born in Kampala, Uganda, on 9th February 1954, and left us on 2nd September 2026, age 72.

Whilst words cannot express the emptiness we are feeling, we are deeply grateful for the precious memories and unconditional love that he gave to us all. He touched the lives of so many with his gentle quiet nature, cheeky smile, generous heart and great sense of humour.

His family was everything to him. Unfortunately, he suffered with Dementia for the last 14 years, which he fought with amazing strength and determination. Whilst he is no longer with us, we take comfort in knowing that he is at peace.

Dementia UK's Admiral Nurses work alongside people with dementia, and their families: giving them one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions. The unique dementia expertise an Admiral Nurse brings is a lifeline. It helps families to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear.

Thank you so much for helping pay tribute to Ashvin Mohanlal Parekh by helping other families facing dementia.
