I will be running the Lincoln Half Marathon later this year to raise money but more importantly to raise awareness of the disease.

It is estimated that 8 children in every 100,000 will be diagnosed with Kawasaki disease and if diagnosed and treated promptly, studies show they can recover from this. Symptoms include a characteristic and distinctively persistent high fever for five days or more, plus two or more of the following symptoms – rash, bloodshot eyes, “strawberry” tongue, cracked, dry lips, redness of the fingers and toes, swollen glands (often just on one side).
