My name is Asia Sharif, and I’ve always cherished life and the memories I’ve been blessed to create, Alhamdulillah. But right now, I’m facing one of the hardest battles of my life: I’m fighting stage 4 blood cancer.

After relapsing, I’m now waiting for a stem cell donor which is determined after I finish radiotherapy whether I have my own or a donor, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without the incredible care I’ve received at the christies.

For the past year, the Christie Cancer Centre has been my lifeline. Their dedication, love, and care have been my strength. Haematology by HCA Healthcare, under the guidance of Professor Adrian Bloor, has been nothing short of miraculous. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor. Alongside him is my wonderful nurse, Jo Pemberton, and the entire haematology team who have held my hand through the darkest times.

Today, I’m challenging myself to give back, to fight not just for me but for others like me who find hope within the walls of the Christie Cancer Centre. This battle with cancer has been long, painful, and at times, it feels overwhelming. But without Christie’s, I wouldn’t have the strength to even dream of taking on this challenge. My hope is rooted in my faith, in Allah, and in the remarkable care I’ve been given.
