Story
As an avid runner, I tend to be quite inconsistent in my races and training. To date I have done two marathons, and I tend to run for the fun of it more than any competitive time achievements. I do however want to use my hobbies and interests to inspire change in the world, no matter how small or big. I might not be able to change the world, but I can change the lives of a few people. With that in mind, I am running Cape Town Marathon in 2025 (home country, but not hometown advantage) and will be fundraising for Blood Cancer UK, Swiss Re UK's charity of the year.
I aim to maximize fundraising efforts to support Blood Cancer UK's investment in research and science, ultimately improving treatments, survival rates, and the quality of life for people living with multiple myeloma. Swiss Re Foundation will match fundraising up to £1,500! Let the fundraising begin!
I appreciate not many people will be able to support in person, but I will be thinking of all your support and donations for however long I end up running!
By supporting Blood Cancer UK, we are contributing to the funding of 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are tirelessly searching for the next breakthrough. Since 1960, Blood Cancer UK has invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day when no one dies of blood cancer is now in sight, thanks to the unwavering dedication of these researchers.
