ASM is a global semiconductor company and this year ASM is delighted to be able to fundraise for the Irish Kidney Association.

On June 21st 2024, ASM Ireland employees are taking on the challenge of climbing Lugnaquilla Mountain in County Wicklow. This is the highest mountain in Ireland (outside of County Kerry) measuring over 965 meters. Round trip is 14km and will take over 5 hours.

There is a strong connection to Irish Kidney Association for the ASM Ireland team with transplant recipients within our staff and families alike. Although they have gone through the stresses of renal disease they have also received the fantastic support that the IKA provide for patients and families.

Some background of the Irish Kidney Association:

The Irish Kidney Association (1978) is a charitable voluntary organization dedicated to meeting the needs of renal patients and their families and carers, living with and affected by end stage renal disease.

• Patient needs are spread across all aspects of life – medical, social and psychological.

• The profile of the kidney patient ranges from infanthood to the elderly who are undergoing various methods of treatment – haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis (both CAPD and APD) and kidney transplantation.

• 10% of the population worldwide is affected by chronic kidney disease (CKD), and millions die each year because they do not have access to affordable treatment.

The Irish Kidney Association exists to make a difference to the lives of people who are affected by kidney disease and ASM's goal is to raise as much money as possible for this incredible charity. Every Euro raised will make a huge difference to patients and families who the IKA provide crucial support to.
